What Do I need to apply?

It’s quite simple and you may have guessed it…you need a Student Card. For example – National and International third level student ID cards as well as International Student identitiy cards (ISIC)

Discounts on travel in Ireland


Sign up for a student Leap Card or an iConnect Card (available to 2nd level students) and you can avail of the following:

Luas (Ireland’s local tram system):

Leap Card Pay-As-You-Go fares are up to 20% cheaper than Luas Cash Fares and Luas Leap Card 1 Day (€5.00) and Weekly (€20.00) student caps limit the amount you pay on Luas.

Dublin Bus:

Great savings available – paying your fare with a Student Leap Card is almost 20% cheaper than paying with cash. Sign up for a student leap card and use the card validator that is located on the right hand side as you board the bus.

Train:

Students, get a bit of luxury into you with a host of cheaper student fares exclusively online. Book one of Irish rail’s flexible student online tickets and enjoy a bit of luxury on their regional train services. Booking flexibility, free seat reservation, free wi-fi and more – all available to students. A Student Leap Travelcard is the ideal way for getting around Dublin by DART or Commuter Rail. There is a special student rate of capping of €7.00 per day or €27.00 per week (Mon to Sun). Once you hit the cap you can continue to travel on DART/Commuter Rail for free.
